“Cryin’ Chuck Schumer should resign over this. He won’t be missed! President DJT.” Attached a Border Patrol Union statement attacking Schumer for allegedly “undermining” agents. No context. No policy. Just a demand for a Senate leader’s resignation posted eighteen minutes after midnight.
Shared a Border Patrol Union image congratulating its newly elected leadership for 2026–2029. Added only: “Great Patriots!!! President DJT.” Three exclamation points. Twelve nineteen in the morning.
Re-shared a post from two days earlier featuring a tweet from right-wing account Gunther Eagleman alleging that Obama “directed a conspiracy to overthrow the U.S. government in 2016” using the Russia investigation. No evidence cited. No fact-check. Just an accusation of treason against a former president, posted at 12:19 AM by the sitting president.
Posted a video. The archive has not yet processed its contents. Posted one minute before the next post and one minute after the last. He is not reading. He is not thinking. He is scrolling and hitting share.
Two posts in the same minute. First: a screenshot of Elon Musk tweeting “Exactly” about the filibuster. Second: a screenshot of Senator Mike Lee arguing the filibuster “empowers Democrats” and should be eliminated. The President of the United States is sharing screenshots of tweets at 12:22 AM to build the case for destroying a 200-year-old Senate procedural safeguard.
Another unprocessed video, followed immediately by a screenshot of a tweet from “The SCIF” alleging that Hillary Clinton “funded and created the Steele Dossier,” Obama “directed” it, and Brennan’s CIA “committed treason.” This is content from anonymous social media accounts. The president is sharing it in the middle of the night as though it were an intelligence briefing.
Back-to-back image posts. The first: a tweet repeating the Clinton/Steele Dossier/treason narrative. The second: a tweet from a user named “Steve Rambert” calling for Obama to be arrested for treason before “an event in Chicago.” This account had 17 views at the time. The president found it, shared it, and moved on — all at 12:28 AM.

After a 44-minute gap — not sleeping, just pausing — Trump posted about the Southern Poverty Law Center being charged with fraud. Then this:
“The Southern Poverty Law Center, one of the greatest political scams in American History, has been charged with FRAUD. This is another Democrat Hoax, along with Act Blue, and many others. If it is true, the 2020 Presidential Election should be permanently wiped from the books and be of no further force or effect! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DJT”
Read that again. At 1:13 in the morning, the sitting president publicly declared that the election he lost in 2020 should be “permanently wiped from the books and be of no further force or effect.” He connected it to the SPLC — an organization that tracks hate groups — being charged with fraud, as though that somehow invalidates a presidential election held three years before the alleged fraud. This is the logic of a man who is not processing information. This is 1 AM brain.
After another 90-minute gap, Trump posted three times in a single minute. First: a screenshot of a tweet about the SPLC allegedly paying $70,000 to an American Nazi Party leader, shared by Mario Nawfal. Second: a screenshot of Elon Musk tweeting “No kidding…” Third: another image, not yet processed by the archive. It is 2:44 AM. The president is sharing Elon Musk memes.
The last post of the night: a Breitbart video titled “Schweizer Exclusive: Walls Are Closing In on Birth Tourism Industry, But We Must Act Now.” An anti-birthright-citizenship segment, continuing the theme from the 3,000-word racist screed he’d shared earlier that day. This was posted at 2:45 AM Eastern. It was 11:45 PM on the West Coast. Normal people had been asleep for hours.
Less than five hours later, Trump was posting again. More Breitbart. More SPLC. More birthright citizenship. The cycle restarted. By the end of the day, he’d post 23 times.
What He’d Already Posted That Day
The midnight spree didn’t happen in a vacuum. Earlier on April 23, the president had already:
• Ordered the Navy to “shoot and kill any boat” putting mines in the Strait of Hormuz. “There is to be no hesitation.”
• Shared a 3,000-word transcript of Michael Savage’s “Savage Nation” podcast — calling India and China “hellholes,” immigrants “gangsters with laptops,” the ACLU “the most dangerous criminal organization in the history of America,” and urging Trump to defy the Supreme Court like Andrew Jackson did before the Trail of Tears.

• Said Iran’s clock is “ticking” and its military has been “destroyed.”
• Attacked the Supreme Court over birthright citizenship.
• Called Chuck Schumer “one of the most egregious, incorrect, unpatriotic” politicians he’d ever seen. “HE MUST IMMEDIATELY APOLOGIZE TO THESE GREAT PATRIOTS.”
• Demanded the filibuster be terminated.
• Announced the Israel-Lebanon ceasefire extension in the same breath as threatening to escalate in Iran.
Then, instead of sleeping, he went to Truth Social and posted conspiracy theories about Obama committing treason until nearly 3 in the morning.
This Is Not New. It’s Getting Worse.
Last night was not an aberration. It was the latest in an accelerating pattern that has been documented since December:

• Jan 23: 70+ posts in one hour at midnight after Davos. Speaker Johnson admitted Trump “sleeps about three hours a night.”
• Jan 29: 48 posts in 36 minutes. Newsom’s office posted the medical definition of “sundowning.”
• Apr 6 (Easter): Skipped church. Captionless Arc de Triomphe at 11 PM. 2 AM endorsement. Profanity-laced Iran threat. 25th Amendment calls.
• Apr 8–13: Posts from 9:45 PM to past 4 AM. AI image of himself as Jesus — deleted. Frank Sinatra’s “My Way.” Threatened to destroy “a whole civilization.”
• Apr 22: 12-hour evening binge. Signed off after midnight with “SOS!!!” Back before 6 AM with a TikTok titled “Endgame and Final Warning.”
What the Experts Say
Clinical psychologist Dr. Tracy King, assessing Trump’s overnight behavior on April 21:
“The volume, the overnight timing, and the intensity all suggest a high level of nervous system activation.
